May has been another crazy month filled with weddings, bridal trials, hen parties, and just general glamorising! I also went to my hometown of Cincinnati for a visit to see my lovely grandparents, who are all unfortunately in declining health. I was very glad to spend some quality time with them.
Here is my favourite photo from the shoot I did with Richard Woodside and Danielle Lauren at Ainsdale Beach on a VERY windy and then rainy day in April. It was quite cold, and Danielle was a very brave model wearing no more than her undies and a sheath of thin and flimsy fabric. This photo was taken very quickly at the end of our shoot, just as a rain storm came rolling in. I love the moodiness of the dark clouds and bleak sand with the grungey smudged eye makeup, just the effect we were going for. Danielle is an incredible model, and poses like a MACHINE!
For this look I used:
Skin Prep: Embyolisse Lait Creme
Base: MAC Face and Body Foundation in N3
Eyes: Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Palette 01 (contour cream applied all over eye), Illamasqua Powder Eye Shadow in Obsidian, MAC Eyeshadow in Wedge, Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil in Perversion
Brows: HD Brows Palette in Bombshell, MAC Brow Pencil in Brunette
Contour: Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate 01
Cheeks: MAC Powder Blusher in Margin
Lips: MAC Lip Pencil in Spice, Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate 01 (highlight cream dabbed on to lips)
I really enjoyed shooting in the great outdoors! Next time, I shall be more prepared for the challenges of using my Rav 4 as a mobile studio! Might have to modify the back! The photos have a real Herb Ritts feel to them, and we are already planning another beach shoot, so watch this space.
Hope you have had a great Bank Holiday Weekend and here's hoping for an amazing summer at the beach ;-)
