Back in July, my very good friend Roisin introduced me to the Makeup Revolution brand. I was seriously impressed with the quality and pigmentation, and especially loved the price! Click here to read my review of 2 of their powder blusher palettes, which have become a staple in my kit.
Makeup Revolution recently released a cream blusher palette. I love cream blushers, when used correctly they give a beautiful 'lit from within' glow to the cheeks that lasts. I have used Stila Convertable Colours in my kit for years, amazing blushers that double up as lipsticks. When I saw this new palette though, I knew I needed to try it!
Eight shades of creamy, highly pigmented gourgeouness. My fave is the lovely little apricot number swatched at the top near my wrist. Apricot tones give a soft natural glow that is perfect for the minimal makeup that is having a big moment right now.
These shades are rich in colour, and a little goes a long way. They blend beautifully using the warmth of your finger tips. I am an old school MUA who like to use CLEAN fingers for blending. The formula is not too greasy, and is super long lasting. These shade have no shimmer in them, making them extremely versatile.
Over the last few months I have also tried Makeup Revolution's Vivid Blush Lacquer in Rush, which is my go to everyday blush for personal use. I would go so far as to say that it is a dupe for the Make Up Forever HD Microfinish Blush. I have just seen that they are reduced from £3 each to £1.50 on the Makeup Revolution website, I am going to stock up and pray that they aren't being discontinued!!!
I have also tried The ONE Blush Stick, again in Rush (I love the peachy pink apricot!). These have been hearlded by some beauty bloggers as a NARS The Multiple dupe. I wasn't convinced myself. It seemed very shimmery and not deep enough in colour, however the texture was great and it make a very pretty highlighter. I can imagine it will look amazing on sunkissed skin.
I really like this brand, and have many items in my personal makeup bag including eye shadows, lipsticks, and contour kits. I recently featured them in my upcoming Budget Beauty article for Purple Revolver. The blusher palettes are now a major component in my pro kit, and stand up to any pro or premium brand. Highly recommended!
