5 of the Best Summer Beauty Essentials

May was full of promise. Sunshine and warm temperatures had me positively optimistic about the summer ahead. Unfortunately June seems to be a dud so far. Nevertheless, I feel obliged to recommend my favourite products for the season, whether you are holidaying abroad, festival-ing, or sunbathing in your back garden (we should be so lucky).

1. Face Atelier Ultra Skin (Cloud10Beauty.com - £31.95)

A fabulous base for the summer or any time you want to look like you have perfect 'I woke up like this' skin. It is a sheer light weight silicone based foundation that does not require a primer or powder as it is self setting and long wearing. Looks amazing with a shimmery bronzer and sweep of blusher.

2. Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow (CharlotteTilbury.com - £38.50)

Stunning as a primer, mixed with your foundation, or dabbed on top of cheekbones. This is like good lighting in a bottle! The optical ingredients diffuse light, making skin look smoother and more radiant. You can wear it on it's own, it is that good!

3. Zoeva Graphic Eyes Pencils (love-makeup.co.uk - £6.99)

These pencils are hard working and hard wearing multi-taskers! Waterproof, smudge-proof, and smear proof. Glides onto lids effortlessly. Smudge the product out before it sets to create a smoky look. Use with an angled brush for a defined winged liner. 18 amazing shades to choose from!

4. Korres Guava Body Butter (FeelUnique.com - £12.50)

This smells divinely of summer. That sort of beachy, tropical fragrance, without being over powering. It is a rich body moisturiser containing shea butter and olive oil. I purchased a travel set with this and the matching shower gel, and as soon as I finish writing this, I am buying the biggest sizes of both that I can find!

5. Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-In Conditioner (Superdrug.com - £4.49)

I have used this since my teens, every summer, without fail. Back in the day, it kept my permed and bleached locks manageable after a day at the pool. I use it after swimming now, on holiday, or to just spray when I feel nostalgic for hot lifeguards and tanning oil. It really does whip your hair back into shape when it gets a bit dry and frazzled.

It was really hard to pick just 5 products! I have decided to write a seperate blog on my favourite lip products for festival season. Be sure the check back to have a read!
